Simplified Processes, Weekly Auctions, and Innovative Troostwijk Auctions App
Agri and earthmoving, an important vertical at Troostwijk Belgium, comes with impressive annual figures for 2023. Online auctioning of heavy equipment is clearly on the rise. It contributes to the circular economy and also helps companies with their sustainability strategies.
To further unburden sellers, Troostwijk is introducing a shorter and faster working method. As a result, the frequency of auctions is being increased to weekly, whereas previously they were held monthly. On top of that comes the recent launch of the renewed Troostwijk Auctions App.
20,000 Belgian Lots, Sold Worldwide
In 2023, the agri and earthmoving segment for Troostwijk Belgium accounted for 132 auctions with more than 20,000 lots. With an average of 25 bids per lot, more than 50,000 bids were registered. The total proceeds exceeded expectations, reaching over €30 million in B2B auctions. These lots came from more than 400 different B2B sellers, and the buyers were located in 78 countries. This shows the international impact and relevance of such B2B auctions.
Bjorn Moris, CEO at Troostwijk, emphasizes the importance of B2B auctions and states:
The growth in B2B auctions reflects our commitment to delivering value to business sellers and buyers. In a time where sustainability and circularity are central, the reuse of heavy equipment is becoming increasingly relevant.
New Working Method: A Win-Win for Buyer and Seller
Over the past 10 years, Troostwijk Belgium has experienced remarkable growth within the B2B segment, starting with one auction every 3 months, evolving to monthly auctions at two of its own locations (in Deinze and Melreux), and now switching to weekly auctions. This has been made possible by the shorter and faster working method Troostwijk has implemented since the beginning of this year. A regional auction advisor from Troostwijk visits the seller on-site and handles everything from A to Z. This approach, combined with the shift to weekly auctions, offers a win-win situation for sellers and buyers by providing a more efficient and faster service. Machines can be registered very easily at https://www.veilenmettroostwijk.be/agrarischengrondverzet/.
Additionally, virtual 360° tours are being introduced for high-profile auctions, allowing the full experience to be enjoyed online.
Innovative Troostwijk Auctions App
Troostwijk also recently launched the completely renewed Troostwijk Auctions App. With improved filter options, personalized recommendations, and live bidding via the app, it offers an advanced experience for buyers and sellers. A hit, as shown by the more than 408,000 downloads in the first few months after launch. The app now accounts for 30 percent of the total number of bids and 38 percent of the total number of active users, and it generates twice as many bids as before the go-live.
