Protecting buyer data: new measure to build trust

To better safeguard the privacy of our buyers and strengthen the integrity of our platform, we have recently implemented an important change to our systems. From now on, buyer information such as name, company name, email address and phone number will only be visible to sellers after the lot has been paid.

Why this change?

This measure is intended to prevent buyers from being contacted outside of the platform. Protecting buyer data is not only a legal responsibility but also a key factor in maintaining trust for both buyers and sellers. We want to ensure that all transactions on Troostwijk Auctions are conducted in a fair and secure manner, without compromising the privacy of our users.

What does this mean for you as a seller?

As soon as a lot has been paid, the buyer's information will automatically become visible again. From that point on, you can contact the buyer as usual to arrange transport or documentation.

We understand that this adjustment may take some getting used to. At the same time, we are working on additional initiatives such as our Safe Auctioning project to further improve buyer payment behavior. Together, we are strengthening trust in a professional and transparent auction process.
