Platform updates – October 2026

At Troostwijk Auctions, we keep improving our platform so buyers can find the right lots faster and keep coming back for more. This edition brings our biggest visual update of the year, plus smarter search and filtering. Below you will find the latest updates and what they mean for you as a seller.

A fresh new look for our website

Our homepage has been completely redesigned, together with a cleaner, more modern header. The search bar now sits in the centre of the header, and the header stays visible as buyers scroll, on desktop, tablet and mobile.

Lot cards have also been redesigned across the website, making each lot clearer and easier to scan. In the full-screen photo gallery, buyers can now switch to a new “All images” view to see every photo of a lot at once.

What does this mean for you as a seller?

A clearer, more inviting website helps buyers find their way to your lots more quickly. With search front and centre and every photo just one click away, buyers can get a complete picture of your items and bid with more confidence. Good photos now count for even more.

Smarter sorting in search results

In our last update, we introduced smarter ranking on category and auction pages. We have now extended this to search. Search results are sorted by a new “Recommended” order by default, which combines how well a lot matches the search term with its estimated value.

What does this mean for you as a seller?

When buyers search for items like yours, the most relevant and valuable lots appear first. This helps your lots reach buyers who are actively looking for them, at the moment they are ready to bid.

Faster, clearer filtering

We have made a series of improvements to our filters so buyers can narrow down to the right lots more quickly:

  • Location filter with a map: buyers can set a search radius on an interactive map, use their current location, and choose a distance from 1 to 500 km.
  • Searchable filter lists: long lists, such as countries, brands and categories, can now be searched by typing instead of scrolling.
  • Reserve price filter: buyers can now select multiple options at once.
  • Closing date filter: the calendar is now shown directly in the filter list, making it quicker to find auctions closing on a specific day.
  • No more losing your place: the page keeps its position when a filter is applied.

What does this mean for you as a seller?

The easier it is to filter, the faster buyers reach lots that match exactly what they need, including lots near them. That means more qualified buyers looking at your lots and fewer people leaving before they find them.

Never miss a matching lot: saved searches

When a buyer’s search or filters return no results, they now get a clear prompt to save that search. After signing in, the search is saved automatically, so buyers don’t have to look for the Save button again. Buyers can now also set a location in the map filter even when there are no lots in that area yet, and save it for future auctions.

The first results are very promising: the number of saved searches created per week has more than doubled (+108.6%).

What does this mean for you as a seller?

Buyers who don’t find what they want today no longer leave empty-handed. They become an audience waiting for your next auction. Their saved searches keep them connected to the platform, so they are more likely to come back and discover your lots when items they are looking for become available.
